Points

The point is the most fundamental object in the figure editor.  Most other geometric objects are defined in someway by a point or points.  Points can be attached to other points or to objects to create figures of any complexity.  In effect, they are the nails that hold a figure together.

 

Insert a Point

Note: You can also insert a point by:

From Grid menu, point to Insert and select Point, or

Right-click somewhere in the figure editor, point to Insert and select Point

 

Select a Point

  Note: To deselect a point click elsewhere on the figure editor screen.

 

 Select Multiple Points

Note: To deselect points click elsewhere on the figure editor screen.

 

Change Point Size

          

 

Change Point Color

       

 

Make Point Invisible

Note: When an item is visible, there is a check next to visible in the right-click menu.

 

Align Point

Aligns the point to the currently defined grid. An aligned point will only move along  the intersections of the grid.  To change grid properties select Edit Grid from the Grid menu.  A point attached to an object cannot be aligned.

Note: When an item is aligned, there is a check next to aligned in the right-click menu.

 

Delete Point

Note: If a point defines another object, then the point can not be deleted until the object it defines is deleted.  This occurs if the point is one of the following:

 

Attach Point

You can attach a point to a line, circle, arc, arrow or another point.

Note: Once you attach a point to an object, if you wish to detach it from that object, place pointer over point and right-click. Select Detach.
